For part of my birthday, my partner took us out to the coast for the weekend. It was really sweet of him and it was really sweet to get away. When I opened the door to the hotel room, I literally burst out into tears because it was right on the ocean and exactly what I love about being by the beach. He got it and it seriously moved me!

It felt good to leave the busyness of our lives and just be somewhere else and hang out. It’s hard to leave a house that is barely unpacked, a business that needs tending to, and a garden that needs some TLC to just take a break, but we did it and I’m so glad we did. Of course, I did come home to an office that needs some serious attention (aka it’s a disaster comprised of clothes, accessories, and office supplies).

But we’re back and I need to ease into a new week and a busy week at that.

Also, I can’t let the day go by without saying Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there – and there are a lot of different types of mothers.

Here’s a photo of me with my mom and grandma. I love you Ma, so much and Grandma Nettie, you are missed dearly!

I know it can be hard day for some for a variety of different reasons so I hope it’s been filled with love and ease and whatever you want it to be.
